Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” (Jer. 33:3)

Yesterday while listening to a Messianic Rabbi speaking on topics relating to the end times and the rapture, the following vision was shown:

As he was ministering the Word – at this point specifically on the subject of the rapture – I suddenly saw him shoot straight up into the air.  His face and head were visible but his body looked like the strong and bright emission of a rocket that was projecting into space.  His body from the neck down was bright white and like an explosive cloud.  The vision stunned me because I was not expecting to see that – even after all these years some visions are still surprising.

Scriptures teach us that the Holy Spirit has been appointed to show us things to come. This was the case with this vision. (Jn. 16:13)  It appears that this Rabbi will be among one of those who will be “taken up” or “raptured”.   It is also possible that as a Jew, he symbolizes those who are redeemed in Israel at the time of the first resurrection. His body was shown transformed as a bright white cloud because it fits the description that when we see the Lord, we shall be like Him. (1 Jn.3:2) Like One who comes in the brightness of the clouds of heaven. (Acts 1:9-11; Mk. 13:26) That is to say, the clouds are indicative of His glorious incorruptible body.  The Rabbi’s head was visible because it symbolizes that he has the Mind of Christ and His authority is over him. Something that my Spirit recognized – it was a case of Spirit bearing witness with Spirit.

I am briefly summarizing this Rabbi’s belief on the subject which might irritate, frustrate and perhaps even anger some Believers.  (The rapture is a subject that has this effect on some people.)

The point of contention among so many Believers is the timing of this phenomenal event.  Will faithful Believers be taken up before the tribulations, during the middle of the tribulations or after the tribulations?  Consider the following verses as it relates to this unprecedented period also known as Jacob’s time of trouble:

“But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!  And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter. For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect’s sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.”  (Mk.13:20)

This verse suggests that for the days to be shortened, the tribulations must already be in progress.  The Rabbi further taught that there will be 21 judgements contained in the 7 seals, 7 trumpets and 7 bowls.  But scriptures teach that the incorruptible transformation happens when “the rapture” takes place at the last trumpet which is the 7th trumpet; a time before the great bowls of wrath are poured on earth:

“Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep (be physically dead) but we shall all be changed—in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” (1 Cor 15:50-56)

In brief, the Rabbi believes in a mid-tribulation rapture.  That the redeemed Church will be on earth for a period of time during the tribulations and before the bowls of wrath are poured out – a period of intense tribulation – is supported in scriptures.  And in the same manner that the chosen people were protected by the blood of the lamb when the Angel of Death passed over Egypt (the world); so it will be for the true faithful who are in blood covenant with the Lamb, Jesus Christ, during that shortened time.   (Some others will succumb to cataclysms or be martyred for the Faith and is the subject of another message.)

There will be a taking away; scriptures leave no doubt about that. Everyone must determine for himself/herself the timing by studying the Word.  We have the most wonderful and revealing sacred tool at our disposal: the Holy Bible.  We also have the Holy Spirit who opens our understanding and shows us things to come. And yet it behooves us to keep in mind that – regardless of the timing of the rapture – every day on earth could be our last one.  None of us are guaranteed to wake up tomorrow morning or see the end of that day.  Faithful Believers are called to be prepared at all times and live in the Spirit on a daily basis.  As Jesus would say, take no care for tomorrow because today is sufficient unto itself!  Have faith that GOD has it all under control.
