A Baby Wrapped in Light

I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all long suffering and teaching. (2 Tim. 4:2)

Thoughts…

While lounging in bed this morning listening to the soothing sound of falling rain, a recent discussion with a friend came to mind. The topic was about music; most specifically Christmas music. As the rain continued to fall, I began thinking about why is such beautiful music only aired, played and sung during the Christmas season? Because it defies conventional norms? Didn’t Jesus defy conventional norms with His teachings…at least so thought the Pharisees and Sadducees.

I then searched on my cell for a musical video that I’ve enjoyed from the moment it was heard. The setting appears to be perhaps in a pub during Christmastime where a young piano player singing a song entitled: Hallelujah garners the attention of people who have gathered there. The Word Hallelujah appears in several psalms. And translated from the Hebrew to English, it means: “praise the Lord.” And then I thought some more about how music can be a wonderful and blessed opportunity to witness and to praise the Lord regardless of the setting and….regardless of the season.

Hallelujah Lyrics:

I’ve heard about this baby boy
Who’s come to earth to bring us joy
And I just want to sing this song to you
It goes like this, the fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
With every breath I’m singing Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Halleluja
h

A couple came to Bethlehem
Expecting child, they searched the inn
To find a place for You were coming soon
There was no room for them to stay
So in a manger filled with hay
God’s only Son was born, oh Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

The shepherds left their flocks by night
To see this baby wrapped in light
A host of angels led them all to You
It was just as the angels said
You’ll find Him in a manger bed
Emmanuel and Savior, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

A star shone bright up in the east
To Bethlehem, the Wise Men three
Came many miles and journeyed long for You
And to the place at which You were
Their frankincense and gold and myrrh
They gave to You and cried out Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

I know You came to rescue me
This baby boy would grow to be
A man and one day die for me and you
My sins would drive the nails in You
That rugged cross was my cross, too
Still every breath You drew was Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Keep the Faith and be blessed, Suzanne ❤ ✝
