The Earth | Destroyed or Renewed?

Following my recently-posted video entitled, GOD’S End Time Sign: Revealing the Rainbow, linked here. there have been discussions and arguments about whether GOD would entirely destroy the earth before the new earth is formed.

According To The Bible

A thorough biblical study on this subject teaches that God will never completely wipe out or abandon His creation. When the Apostle John stated that the first earth “passed away” (parerchomai), he was describing a radical transformation of its condition and not its total annihilation. The exact same word is used to describe a person who becomes a Christian; their old life “passes away” as they become a new creation yet their physical body and identity remain. The earth will absolutely undergo severe judgment by fire to purge sin, evil and corruption. And yes, there will be massive cataclysms and destruction but not total annihilation. This supernatural fire is a refining and consuming process that will dissolve the current broken elemental form of this world, allowing the physical planet to be beautifully resurrected, liberated and completely renewed (kainos) in ways that defy human logic and comprehension.

  • Kainos (καινός): Means renewed in quality, fresh, or restored. Unlike neos, which means brand new from scratch.
  • Parerchomai (παρέρχομαι): Means to pass from one state to another, or for a specific era to end. It does not mean to be vaporized into nothingness.

Affiliated Verses

God set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved or permanently annihilated. (Ps. 104:5)

Generations come and generations go, but the earth remains forever. (Eccl. 1:4)

Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven. And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain. Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. (Gen. 12:26-28 Cf. Hag. 2:6; Is. 13:13; 24:19-23) This is an absolute silver bullet argument for renewal instead of complete annihilation. The earth will be shaken, severely, so that only what is good will remain.

Apostle Paul clarifies that it is only the form (the current corrupt state and sinful system) of this world that is passing away. (1 Cor. 7:31)

In this verses, Apostle Paul uses the same word (parerchomai) to show that when the old life “passes away,” it means spiritual transformation, not physical deletion. (2 Cor. 5:17)

For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. (Col. 1:19-20)

The physical creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay, not destroyed or vaporized into nothingness. (Rom. 8:21)

The world passes through fire to purify, dissolve and “lays bare” sin, acting as a refining process rather than total destruction. (2 Pet. 3:6-10)

John sees the old earth pass away (parerchomai) and a renewed (kainos) earth emerge, where God declares, “I am making all things new” and not making all new things. (Rev. 21:1-5)

A Timely Word of Knowledge

Right now as I am typing this message out, I am clearly hearing a Word of Knowledge. And that Word is “Shadow”. This confirms that the current world and its temporary dimensional ordinances are a fading shadow of the good things to come. And the New Earth is the true enduring substance and reality of GOD’S new order. (Col. 2:17, Heb. 10:1) Praise God and thank you Lord for the Word of Confirmation.
